Preliminary Budget for 2012 To Be Discussed at Upcoming Council Meetings

A preliminary budget (for the Town's general operations) was circulated to Council at their January 16 meeting.  Council will be considering the budget and accompanying 2012 to 2016 Financial Plan at upcoming meetings in February, March and April. 

Some dates of note for members of the public:

  • Monday, February 6 and Monday, February 20 -- Discussion on the proposed budget at the regular Council meetings
  • Monday, March 5 -- Council will consider the Grants-in-Aid budget allocations
  • Between March 5 and May 14 -- Additional Budget Meetings (dates to be determined)
  • May 15 -- The full Financial Plan and accompanying bylaws must be adopted before this date

All budget discussions are open to the public, and Ladysmith citizens are encouraged to attend, ask questions, and make comments.

    Way to go Garth! I fully agree with your roanesing why Councillors should be questioning city staff during the process of putting together a budget.
