Ladysmith Seeks Input from Developers

Ladysmith, March 5, 2018 - The Town of Ladysmith has launched a survey to invite input from the development community about how to improve service. The survey is part of a review of Ladysmith development applications that has been initiated by Council. The review is aimed at examining the processes for development applications, including Official Community Plan amendments, rezonings, development permits, variance permits and subdivisions. It follows the earlier review of building permit processes.

"Ladysmith values its development community and is working with them to ensure the Town is welcoming of growth that maintains the high standards for development in our community," said Ladysmith Mayor Aaron Stone. "When we work in partnership with stakeholders, we can achieve positive results for the Town. We want developers to know Ladysmith is open for business."

The survey can be accessed at www.ladysmith.ca from March 5-23. Results will be shared at a Developers' Forum to be hosted by the Town in April. The Forum offers an opportunity for the development community to review feedback gathered by the Town, and provide input on preliminary ideas for process improvement.

The development applications review is part of an ongoing commitment by the Town to continue providing Ladysmith's growing community with excellent service by identifying ways to enhance current processes to meet the needs of the community and the goals of the development industry. The review is scheduled to be completed by the end of April and will conclude with a report to Council.
