Doing Business

Ladysmith is a growing community both in its population as well as its business base. One of the key indicators of this growth is in the number of business licenses issued by the Town. In 2006, the Town issued twice as many business licenses than in 2000.

The Town of Ladysmith supports enhanced economic development efforts and works cooperatively with local industry to continue to grow the local economy. To guide and facilitate these efforts, the Town established the Ladysmith Economic Development Commission in 2005. The Commission's prime mandate is to provide leadership to diversify and grow the Ladysmith economy and achieve a sustainable community.
