Aggie Hall Playspace and Picnic Shelter

In October 2022, the addition of the picnic shelter and garden provides an opportunity to play and gather as a community in a welcoming nature place space.

Arboretum Park

This park features a lawn, bridge and collection of different trees and shrubs including Sequoia, Garry Oak, Pine, Cedar and Dogwood.  It is located at the entrance to Transfer Beach Park on the corner of the Island Highway.

Bob Stuart Park

At the north entrance of 1st Avenue, you will find a landscaped greenspace, garden and rest area.  The park is named for former Mayor R.W. Stuart (1977 -1978).

Brown Drive Park and Kinsmen Playground               

This neighbourhood park, situated where Brown Drive meets Colonia Drive, offers a large open green space with a small brook.  The Kinsmen Club of Ladysmith with community partners, installed new playground equipment in stages in 2011 & 2012.

Community Garden - Ladysmith Community Garden - High Street

This pastoral setting in the heart of downtown Ladysmith is a public space managed by the Ladysmith Community Gardens Society.  Plots are available to residents (for a nominal yearly fee) for food gardening.

Davis Road Park

Gourlay-Janes Park                       

A short hike through a forest leads to a beautiful open space bordering the Ladysmith harbour.  This park is located on Chemainus Road

Harbourview Park

Queen's Park              

This pretty hillside neighbourhood park overlooks the Ladysmith Harbour.  The Saltair Gardening Club maintains a lovely garden at this site.  Access from 1st Avenue or Baden Powell Street.

Root Street Park              

This fenced neighbourhood park is a popular spot for young families, featuring a tot playground and small asphalt sports court

Rotary Memorial Peace Garden & Cenotaph         

This small park and garden located on "Veteran's Way" contains a monument to the local soldiers killed in WWI and WWII.

Rutti Park

This park is located just off Russell Road and features an open green space next to a unique rock formation as well as several fruit trees.

Skateboard Park

The recently updated outdoor skate park has 1/4 pipes, pyramids, stairs, funbox rails and more.  Adjacent to the Frank Jameson Community Centre at 810 6th Avenue.

Spirit Square & Lions Park

Ladysmith's Spirit Square, opened in 2011, is a dynamic public square where people of all ages gather for quiet time, play or celebrations.  A childrens playground is located at Lions Park.  Located at 2nd Avenue, between Buller Street and High Street.

Transfer Beach Park

This centrally located seaside park is a major gathering spot for activities and community events.  Go for a swim, have a picnic, paddle a kayak, or enjoy the fabulous spray park and playground.  Live music events during the summer months at the large amphitheatre.  Offers a dog off leash area.  Located just off the Trans Canada Highway.

The spray park at Transfer Beach typically opens for the season on May long weekend and closes for the winter after Labour Day long weekend.  The spray park is open during this time from 10:00am to 9:00pm.
