Town seeking community input on Rutti Park improvements

The Town of Ladysmith is launching an exciting public engagement opportunity for residents to participate in shaping the future of Rutti Park.

The feedback you provide through a brief survey– which can be completed in less than 5 minutes - will form the next steps in creating a Rutti Park Implementation Plan.

The park is in south Ladysmith at the end of Rothdale Road, off Russell Road.  It features an open green space and pedestrian connection.

Through the survey, the Town is interested in learning your ideas for potential improvements to Rutti Park, as well as what you enjoy about the park right now.

Never visited Rutti Park? That’s OK. We’d appreciate hearing your ideas too.

As part of the survey, you’ll be asked to rank 5 emerging themes (Natural Environment, Sustainability, Education and Play, Celebrate Culture, and Connectivity) that will help form next steps in the public engagement process, including where we should focus our strategy, process, and action items.

Why is the Town creating the Rutti Park Implementation Plan now?

A park plan is used to define a park’s current amenities as well as the potential improvements that are needed now, and in the future.  It reflects the needs as identified by the current users of the park – that’s you!

The deadline for completing the survey is Friday, April 19, 2024.

Following the completion of the new Rutti Park plan, the document will be presented to the Parks, Recreation & Culture Advisory Committee (PRCAC)  for endorsement and then to Ladysmith Council for adoption.

Council adopted the Kinsmen Park Implementation Plan in 2023 following similar public engagement campaign spearheaded by the PRCAC.
