Ladysmith is a charming small town with a thriving economy, vibrant downtown and picturesque waterfront, whose welcoming neighbourhoods reflect the quality of our citizens.
The Town would like to thank the residents of Ladysmith, Stz'uminus First Nation and the Diamond Improvement District for their cooperation and understanding following the postponement of weekend construction work at the Water Filtration Plant.
The community had been asked to conserve water from Saturday, May 4 at 10 pm to Sunday, May 5, at 6 am while this critical work at the facility was being completed.
As with any major infrastructure project of this scale, unforeseen technical engineering factors arose during last week's site preparation which ultimately led to the postponement.
The Town's Infrastructures Services Department is now looking at alternatives to ensure minimal future disruption to Ladysmith, Stz'uminus First Nation and Diamond Improvement District residents - who will all benefit from the completion of the new Water Filtration Plant over the coming decades.
The Town would like to thank residents who were prepared to do their part by conserving water over the weekend.
