Recycling in Ladysmith is collected every other week on your scheduled collection day.
Each household is allowed to place an unlimited amount of recycling containers or bags at the curb.
Residents must flatten or break down all recyclable corrugated cardboard, and all recyclables must either be tied in bundles or placed in a recycling container.
All containers must have handles and waterproof lids. Containers and bags must be placed at the curb by 8:00 am on collection day.
The Town of Ladysmith does not provide recycling containers.
Yellow recycling bags can be purchased at City Hall (410 Esplanade) or the Frank Jameson Community Centre (810 6th Avenue) for $1.25 each.
Recycling plays a key role in protecting our environment and cutting down on unnecessary waste. However, it’s not always easy to know which items can be placed at the curb and which cannot.
To help ease the confusion, we’ve complied a handy list of what items are acceptable in the recycling.
Printed Paper
Paper Packaging
Plastic Containers
Metal Containers
While the Town permits residents to place certain garbage, recycling and organic waste at the curb, the following items are strictly prohibited from curbside recycling collection:
Items not accepted at the curb may be taken to the Peerless Road Recycling Centre & Garbage Drop-Off Depot, located at 10830 Westdowne Road in Ladysmith.
For a full list of what is accepted at Peerless Road, please visit the CVRD’s website or call 250-746-2540.
