January 31 Deadline to request a formal review of your property assessment
February 28 Fourth Quarter Utility Bills Due
May 30 First Quarter Utility Bills Due
By May 31 Your property tax notice is mailed out
Mid-June Contact us if you have not received your property tax notice
July 2

Property taxes due. A 2% penalty is applied to any outstanding balance
Home owner grant applications due to the Province
Deadline to apply to defer your property taxes with the Province

Mid-July A Statement of Account is mailed out to you if you have an unpaid property tax account balance.
August 30 Second Quarter Utility Bills due
September 12 A further 8% penalty will be applied to any outstanding balances on property taxes
September 25 Tax Sale – all properties with delinquent taxes are sold at public auction.
November 29 Third Quarter Utility Bills due
December 31

  • electronically at participating financial institutions
  • in person at City Hall (cash, cheque or Interac)
  • at most financial institutions in Canada up to the due date
  • by mail* please note post marks are NOT accepted as date of payment
