Frank Jameson Community Centre 

Ladysmith's Community Centre is located at 810 Sixth Avenue.  The Centre is named after Frank Jameson, a past Mayor who was determined to improve the town’s recreational facilities.

Aquatics

The Community Centre features a 4-lane, 25-metre Olympic short course ultraviolet  pool, heated to an inviting 28 degrees Celsius. Patrons with special needs will find easy access when using our aquatic lift or stairs. The pool area offers adventure & fun for all with a climbing wall on the edge of the pool deck, slides, rope swing and basketball hoops.

The facility also boasts a therapy teach pool with lazy river, which is maintained at a  warm 34 degrees Celsius. The therapy teach pool has easy access with a shallow end of zero depth and then slopes to the deepest point of four feet. The whirlpool is a combination of turbulent air & hot water pumped into the pool.  The Sauna is a hot, dry, relaxing area kept at an average of 55 degrees Celsius.

Change rooms include men's, women's, family, and special needs with lift and bed.

Fitness Centre

The well-equipped Fitness Centre offers equipment and programs for all, whether you are new to fitness, want to improve your fitness level, or are recovering from an injury.  The 3000 square foot facility features an extensive selection of cardio, strength training and free-weight equipment. We also have a variety of Stability, Bosu, and Medicine Balls, Wobble Boards, Fit Tubes, and TRX Suspension Strength Training Orientations & Consultations.  A wide array of fitness and wellness programs are offered in the Aerobic/Pilates/Yoga studio, taught by qualified instructors.

The Fitness Centre is available to all patrons over the age of 16.  Youth aged 13 to 15 are welcome to use the facility on completion of the Youth Fitness Program.  Please call the Community Centre at 250.245.6424 for further information or to book an individual appointment with one of our certified instructors.

Gymnasium

We offer scheduled public drop-in times for pickleball, indoor soccer and basketball. 

Youth Rec Room  (13-18 years)

The Youth Rec Room is a free, safe, welcoming youth centre where teens can play pool, ping-pong, air hockey, fooseball or Wii, learn to make healthy snacks, create art, surf the net, watch TV, listen to music, meet new friends and get involved in  community events.  The Rec Room is open on Fridays from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Two meeting rooms are available for rent at the Frank Jameson Community Centre.

Aggie Hall

Aggie (short for Agricultural) Hall is a beautifully restored hall that is also home to the Ladysmith Cadets and the Ladysmith Family and Friends. It has a recently renovated professional kitchen perfect for large events and receptions.  Aggie Hall is located on the corner of Symonds Street and First Avenue. Parking can be found in the adjacent parking lot or on Second Avenue.

TRANSFER BEACH

Transfer Beach has two picnic shelters and an amphitheater that is available for rent and public use.  These are popular spaces for family gatherings, weddings and community events.
