Garbage Collection

Garbage in Ladysmith is collected every other week on your scheduled collection day.

Each household is allowed to place one garbage container (no larger than 70 litres/18.5 gallons in size and weighing no more than 22 kilograms/50 pounds when full) at the curb.

All containers must have handles, waterproof lids and be set out on the curb by 8:00 am on collection day. Garbage left in bags will not be collected.

The Town of Ladysmith does not provide or sell garbage containers.

Extra garbage?

If you have more garbage than permitted, households can purchase tickets that allow additional containers to be placed at the curb. Each ticket must be attached to the top of the additional container(s).

Tickets are available for $3.00 each or 6 for $15.00 and can be purchased at City Hall (410 Esplanade) or the Frank Jameson Community Centre (810 6th Avenue).

Garbage tags are not reusable or refundable.
