Accessibility Plan

The Town of Ladysmith is working to create a community where everyone can take part in Town programs, services, and activities. This means finding, removing, and preventing barriers that make access difficult.

In January 2026, Town Council adopted Ladysmith’s first Accessibility Plan.

The plan was created by the Town’s Accessibility Advisory Committee (AAC). The plan is a living document that will be updated over time as the Town hears from the community and responds to new needs.

The Accessibility Plan focuses on Town-owned buildings, public spaces, and facilities. Its goal is to improve access by identifying and removing barriers.

Accessibility Advisory Committee

The Accessibility Advisory Committee was created in 2023. Its role is to help the Town identify accessibility and inclusion barriers and suggest ways to remove and prevent them.

The committee includes residents with lived experience and knowledge of disability-related issues as well as one member of Council.
