In 2007, Ladysmith's Heritage Revitalization Advisory Commission (HRAC) received funding from the Provincial Government Heritage Branch to establish a Heritage Strategic Plan for the Town of Ladysmith.

The Plan helps to identify, maintain and protect community heritage resources. This Plan will guide Ladysmith’s heritage program until 2012.  Developed in consultation with HRAC, Town staff, and community stakeholders, the Heritage Strategic Plan outlines the priorities for the development of Ladysmith’s heritage conservation initiatives.  It answers key questions about the existing situation, defines a community vision for heritage, and recommends a strategy for implementation.
