Ladysmith drops to Stage 2 water restrictions

Following a period of increased rainfall, the Town of Ladysmith is moving to Stage 2 water restrictions and encouraging residents to continue doing their part by being water-smart and using this resource responsibly.

The change to the water regulations for Ladysmith, Stz’uminus First Nation and the Diamond Improvement District residents is effective Sept. 19, 2019.

As part of the Stage 2 regulations, we are asking that residents:

  • Water lawns in accordance with the specified days (Even numbered addresses Wednesday and Saturday, odd numbered addresses Thursday and Sunday);
  • Limit washing of driveways and sidewalks;
  • Only hand water trees, shrubs and gardens between 7-9 am or 7-9 pm for a maximum of two hours per day.

The Town had remained under Stage 3 water restrictions due mainly to the repairing of a water main connecting to the Stocking Lake Balancing Reservoir as well as construction of the new Water Filtration Plant.

Every drop counts and your ongoing cooperation is appreciated.
