Town launches redesigned mobile-friendly website to improve online service delivery

It's a new year which means time for a new look. The Town of Ladysmith has launched its redesigned mobile-friendly website complete with a range of enhanced features for residents accessing information and resources.

In addition to the website refresh, the Town has added several new features to improve the online user experience for our residents, the business community, or anyone looking to learn about Ladysmith.

"The COVID-19 pandemic has meant more residents are looking for Town information and conducting business online.   We have focused on improving the overall online service delivery by making our website more functional to meet people's needs while also adding many new features," said CAO Allison McCarrick.

"We invite everyone to pick up your smartphone or jump on the computer and explore the website redesign - we welcome your feedback."

Implementing a new website that meets the growing needs of the community has been an important priority of the current and previous Council.

A few of the additional features now available through the Town's website include:

  • Addition of emergency alert banners with the ability to colour change depending on the degree of severity;
  • Accessibility options, including font size options and contrasting colours;
  • Embedded billing calculator for property taxes;
  • Updated newsletter subscription form added at the bottom of every page;
  • "I want to" section on the homepage for quick reference;

The search function has also been updated including an auto-complete setting.

In early 2020, the Town and its website designer Graphically Speaking started the process of planning, reviewing and updating the Town website.

For users of our new website, it is important to note that all pages and contents have been brought over, and remain in the same section as before - easing any navigation worries.

The Town welcomes your feedback on its website redesign.  Send your comments to info@ladysmith.ca.
