Declaration of candidates for Ladysmith Council

The official list of candidates for Council in the General Local Election is available on the Town’s website. Nominated candidates had until Friday, September 16, 2022 to withdraw their nomination.

Due to the Day of Mourning for her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the declaration of candidates was made by the Chief Election Officer on Tuesday.

Aaron Stone is acclaimed as Mayor after running unopposed.

General Voting Day for the municipal election is Saturday, October 15, 2022 at the Frank Jameson Community Centre, 810 6th Avenue.

All eligible voters in the Town of Ladysmith will have the opportunity to elect their six Councillors.

Voters will also elect School District No. 68 Board Trustees.

Additionally, the Town is providing advance voting opportunities on Wednesday, October 5 and 12, 2022 from 8 am-8 pm at City Hall, 410 Esplanade. Mail Ballots are available to all electors and more information on this process including the application form can be found here on our website.  Mail ballots will be sent out during the week of September 26.
