Town holding at Stage 3 Water Restrictions

The Town of Ladysmith is remaining at Stage 3 Water Restrictions as we continue to monitor the impact of unseasonably warm temperatures on our lake levels and natural environment.

The Province increased the drought level to Level 5 last week for Vancouver Island; drought levels are reported weekly.

As recently as last month, Ladysmith adjusted water restrictions alongside Cowichan water purveyors according to these drought levels.

However, we are choosing to remain at Stage 3 at this time, as our capacity levels at Holland Lake and Stocking Lake are consistent with past years.

We’d like to thank Ladysmith residents for being conscious about their water usage around the home.

Additionally, the Town in recent months completed repairs to our aging infrastructure, which improved the overall efficiency of our water distribution system.

Ladysmith residents are encouraged to review the Stage 3 Water Restrictions information on our website and follow regulations as appropriate.

Continue to watch the Town’s website, social media and e-newsletter for any changes to Water Restrictions.
