Town offering spring yard waste pick-up

Ladysmith, BC - The Town of Ladysmith, in partnership with Waste Connections, is offering Spring Yard Waste Pick-up during the week of May 12-16, 2025.

Here’s what you can set out for collection:

Yard Waste: Up to 10 yard waste bags or reusable bins, no larger than 77L and under 44lbs (20kg).

Sticks: Up to 2 bundles, each no longer than 3' in length and 2" in diameter, tied with cotton string. Bundles must weigh less than 44lbs (20kg).

Accepted materials:

  • Leaves
  • Grass clippings
  • Flowers
  • Non-invasive plants
  • Tree or hedge clippings
  • Branches (up to 2” diameter, max 44lbs/20kg)

If rain is expected, place paper bags at the curb only on the morning of collection.

"This is a great opportunity for residents to tidy up their yards and keep our town looking beautiful while making the most of our convenient curbside service,” says Nicholas Pescod, the Town’s Communications & Engagement Specialist.
