Beach advisory issued for Transfer Beach due to elevated bacteria levels

Ladysmith, BC — A beach advisory has been issued for Transfer Beach effective July 7, 2025 after routine testing by Island Health found high levels of bacteria in the water.

As a result, Transfer Beach is currently unsafe for swimming and other water-based activities.

The Town of Ladysmith is urging residents and visitors to avoid entering the water until further notice.

Island Health continues to monitor water quality and further updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
