Fitness Centre closed indefinitely

Ladysmith, BC — The Town of Ladysmith is advising residents that due to construction delays related to roof repairs at the Frank Jameson Community Centre (FJCC), the fitness centre will not reopen as scheduled on September 2 and will remain closed until further notice.

The fitness centre has been closed since August 16 as part of the Town’s annual maintenance shutdown at the Frank Jameson Community Centre.

Town staff are working closely with the contractor to determine a safe reopening date; however, at this time there is not enough information to provide a confirmed timeline.

“We understand that many patrons were eager to return to the fitness centre and will be disappointed by the extended closure,” says Nicholas Pescod, the Town’s Communications & Engagement Specialist. “We are working closely with our contractor to complete the repairs and reopen the facility safely as soon as possible.”

The Town appreciates the community’s patience and understanding and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
