Ladysmith, BC — The Town of Ladysmith is proud to support the annual Remembrance Day parade and ceremony on November 11.
This year's Remembrance Day parade will start at 10:30 am from the Ladysmith Royal Canadian Legion Branch 171 (621 1st Avenue) and proceed to the cenotaph, located at the east end of Warren Street by the Trans-Canada Highway, where the ceremony will be held.
The ceremony will begin at approximately 10:45 am and conclude no later than 12:00 pm.
1st Avenue, between High Street and Warren Street, will be closed from 10:30 am until 11:30 am to accommodate the parade and ceremony.
Additionally, a portion of the southbound lane of the Trans-Canada Highway, between 1st Avenue and Buller Street, will be closed from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm to reduce noise during the ceremony.
"We look forward to welcoming veterans, residents, and visitors to the cenotaph for this year's ceremony," says Mayor Deena Beeston. "We are proud to honour our veterans and all those who have served and given their lives in defence of our great nation."
The Town has recently completed upgrades at the cenotaph that will provide a more accessible and comfortable experience for participants and spectators alike.
