Town hosting open house for prospective paid-on-call firefighters

LADYSMITH, BC The Town of Ladysmith is hosting an open house on November 17 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Aggie Hall for those interested in joining the Town of Ladysmith Fire/Rescue as a paid-on-call firefighter.

Open house attendees will have the opportunity to meet Ladysmith Fire/Rescue staff, ask questions, explore the department’s equipment, learn about training expectations and what it means to serve the community. Attendees will also be able to apply on-site to become a paid-on-call firefighter.

“Joining the Town of Ladysmith Fire/Rescue isn’t just about fighting fires or responding to other emergencies, it’s about serving your community, building lifelong friendships, and making a real difference,” says Ladysmith Fire/Rescue chief, Chris Geiger. “We’re looking for dedicated individuals who are ready to face new challenges, learn new skills, and be part of something bigger than themselves.”

The Town of Ladysmith Fire/Rescue has a long history of dedicated service to the community, and paid-on-call firefighters play a vital role in emergency response, fire prevention and public safety in our community.

Those interested in learning more about the open house or the application process are encouraged to visit the Town of Ladysmith website or attend the event in person.
