2026 Collection Schedule now available

Ladysmith, BC — The Town of Ladysmith is pleased to announce that the 2026 Collection Schedule for residential waste is now available.

Residents can view the schedule by visiting www.ladysmith.ca/our-services/garbage-recycling or by clicking on the link below. Schedules will also be delivered directly to residents in January.

The Town would like to apologize for the late collection schedule release and thanks residents for their patience and understanding.

Under the new agreement with GFL Environmental, each household can place one garbage container at the curb. The container must be no larger than 120 litres and weigh no more than 20 kilograms (44 pounds) when full.

Rules for recycling and organic containers remain the same:

  • Residents can place unlimited recycling containers or bags at the curb.
  • Each household may place one organic container at the curb, no larger than 45 litres (10 gallons).

In case of inclement weather, GFL plans to deploy a second truck the following day to pick up any missed collections. If severe weather causes delays beyond one day, residents will need to hold their materials until their next scheduled collection day. Any extra material that builds up due to the delay will still be collected.
