Ladysmith, BC — The Town of Ladysmith is advising residents that crews will be performing unidirectional water flushing on 1st Avenue from Symonds to Methuen on April 19 from approximately 12:00 pm until 1:00 am.
During this flushing period, residents in the area may notice reduced water pressure and temporary water discolouration. If the water is discoloured, running a cold tap briefly can help clear it. Pressure will return to normal once flushing is complete.
Residents dependent on medical equipment using water are advised to make note of these flushing dates and times.
The Town also suggests using this period to give the screens on faucets and the pressure-reducing valve (where the water enters the house or business) an annual cleaning.
In case of emergency during this flushing period, please contact the Town of Ladysmith at 250-245-6445 or 250-245-6400 to access the emergency line.
The Town apologizes for the inconvenience.
The Town of Ladysmith respectfully acknowledges that we gather and work on the unceded territory of the Stz'uminus First Nation, the traditional keepers of this land.
