Public Notice: 4th Avenue and Dogwood Drive Paving

Ladysmith, BC — The Town is advising residents of two upcoming paving projects.

On May 4, the Town’s contractor, Amrize, is tentatively scheduled to begin paving a section of Dogwood Drive south of 4th Avenue Extension, as well as a small section of 4th Avenue north of Christie Road/Cook Street, near the Ladysmith Cemetery.

Work is expected to begin on 4th Avenue first followed by Dogwood Drive.

During this period there will be single-lane alternating traffic while crews work to keep vehicles moving as efficiently as possible; however, motorists should expect delays through the work zone.

Motorists are urged to avoid these areas, if possible, to avoid delays.

Property owners in the affected area can expect typical construction impacts such as noise, heavy equipment, and dust. Access will be maintained at all times, though some minor inconvenience may occur.

Work on both sites is expected to be completed by May 8 but could be longer.

The Town of Ladysmith respectfully acknowledges that we gather and work on the unceded territory of the Stz'uminus First Nation, the traditional keepers of this land.
