Spring yard waste collection takes place June 1-5

Ladysmith, BC — The Town of Ladysmith is advising residents that Spring Yard Waste Collection will take place from June 1-5, 2026.

Pickup will take place on your regularly scheduled collection day. Collection will be handled by the Town's contractor, GFL Environmental.

Here’s what you can set out for collection:

Yard Waste: Up to 10 yard waste bags or reusable bins, no larger than 125 litres and under 44lbs (20kg).

Sticks: Up to 2 bundles, each no longer than 3' in length and 2" in diameter, tied with cotton string. Bundles must weigh less than 44lbs (20kg).

Accepted materials:

Leaves

Grass clippings

Flowers

Non-invasive plants

Tree or hedge clippings

Branches (up to 2” diameter, max weight 44lbs/20kg)

Due to the potential for rainy weather, please only place paper bags at the curb the morning of your collection.

“This is a helpful service for residents who want to get their yard ready for the summer. We have a beautiful town and I appreciate everyone who helps keep it that way," says Mayor Deena Beeston.

The Town of Ladysmith respectfully acknowledges that we gather and work on the unceded territory of the Stz'uminus First Nation, the traditional keepers of this land.
