2026 General Local Election key dates and information

Ladysmith, BC — The 2026 General Local Election is just around the corner.

With that in mind, here’s a look at the key dates and the finalized candidate list.

When is the 2026 General Local Election being held?

Saturday, October 17 at the Frank Jameson Community Centre, 810 6th Avenue from 8:00 am and 8:00 pm.

Is there advance voting?

Yes. Advance voting will be held on Wednesday, October 7 and Wednesday, October 14 from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm at City Hall.

Can I vote by mail?

Yes. Mail ballot voting is available for all electors of the Town of Ladysmith. More information is available at https://www.ladysmith.ca/city-hall/elections-alternative-approval-assent-voting/mail-ballot-voting.

How many people do I get to vote for?

Eligible voters can choose one candidate for Mayor and up to six candidates for Councillor.

Following the September 18 deadline for withdrawal, the following individuals are officially running for mayor:
