Four-Year Contract between Town and CUPE Local 401 Ratified

Ladysmith, BC, May 10, 2018 - The Town of Ladysmith is pleased to announce the ratification of a four (4) year Collective Agreement Local 401 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE).
This new agreement includes a general pay rate increase of 2 per cent and benefit plan changes effective January 1, 2018 through December 31, 2021.  The package is fair, balanced and the result of much thought and work completed by the Town and CUPE negotiating committees.
The Town and CUPE began bargaining in late December and a tentative agreement was reached on April 24, 2018 after five days of negotiations.
