Ladysmith, BC — The Town of Ladysmith, Mayor and Council extends its deepest condolences to the victims and their families of the horrifying events that took place at the Lapu-Lapu Festival in Vancouver on April 26.
The flags at City Hall and all Town-owned properties have been lowered to half-mast until May 4 to honour the victims of this tragedy. Additionally, City Hall and other locations around Town will be illuminated with red, white and blue lights.
“My heart breaks for those whose lives were shattered by this senseless act of violence during a community celebration. I am grateful to police, first responders and emergency personnel and by-standers, who provided service and support. Our thoughts are with all those who have been impacted by this tragedy and we stand in solidarity the Filipino community,” says Mayor Deena Beeston.
