Town releases results of the 2025 Spring Clean-Up survey

Ladysmith, BC — The Town of Ladysmith is pleased to release the results from the 2025 Spring Clean-Up survey.

The survey, which was available on the Town's public engagement platform, Let's Talk Ladysmith, from August 21 until September 5, sought feedback from residents about this year's Spring Clean-Up service.

The results are available for download as a PDF below and are organized into three sections: responses from those who used the service, responses from those who did not, and overall findings. They will also be posted on Let’s Talk Ladysmith.

"The Town thanks all of those who took the time to complete the survey. The feedback we received was respectful, constructive and identified several areas for improvement," says Nicholas Pescod, the Town’s Communication and Engagement Specialist.

Mayor and Council thank the community for participating in the survey and providing valuable feedback for consideration.

Survey Highlights:

  • A total of 162 responses were received.
  • 138 respondents (85%) used the Spring Clean-Up service, while 24 respondents (15%) did not.
  • 141 respondents (87%) want the Spring Clean-Up to continue.
  • 126 respondents (77.8%) felt the guidelines were easy or very easy to understand, 36 (22.2%) felt it was somewhat hard or hard.
  • 108 respondents (66.7%) had a poor or fair impression of the service, 54 (33.3%) had a good or excellent impression.
  • 106 respondents (64.5%) rated timeliness of the collection as either poor or fair, 56 (34.5%) rated it as good or excellent.
  • 95 respondents (58.6%) felt communication was effective or very effective, while 67 respondents (41.4%) felt it was ineffective or very ineffective.
  • Of the 138 participants who used the service, 58% reported their items were collected as expected.
