Town provides Island Health with use of Aggie Hall for COVID-19 immunization clinic

The Town of Ladysmith is supporting Island Health in facilitating a COVID-19 immunization clinic at Aggie Hall which will help to improve ease of access for area residents receiving a vaccine.

The health authority has requested use of the community hall for the period of March 15 – September 15, 2021.

Dedicated public parking for the temporary clinic will be available at both the upper and lower Aggie Hall lots, along Symonds Street and on 2nd Avenue above the natural playground.  We encourage anyone attending the clinic to make use of public parking in this area.

The clinic is supporting Island Health during Phases 2-4 of B.C.’s COVID-19 Vaccination Plan.  More information on the implementation of immunization phases is available through the Province’s website.

All appointments for vaccinations will be pre-booked.  Visit Island Health’s website on eligibility and information on how to register.

Beginning on March 8th, seniors aged 90+ and Indigenous people aged 65+ who don’t currently receive home support services or live in an independent living or a seniors’ supportive housing facility, will be able to call Island Health to book their vaccination appointment in their community.

The Town is working to accommodate user groups who will either be immediately impacted by Island Health’s use of Aggie Hall, or have the potential to have bookings affected in the future if provincial health orders are lifted before the fall.
