Town requiring masks in offices and facilities starting Wednesday

The Town of Ladysmith is once again requiring members of the public to wear a mask when visiting our offices and facilities as we comply with the latest Provincial Health Officer’s Order issued on Tuesday.

The Provincial order mandates that anyone 12 years of age and older use a mask in indoor public settings, regardless of vaccination status.

As a result, masks are now required to be worn in common areas inside City Hall, Development Services, Infrastructure Services and the Frank Jameson Community Centre (FJCC).

FJCC patrons must wear a mask when not engaged in physical activity, such as when utilizing Fitness Centre, aquatics area and/or participating in classes.

For the purposes of this order, a mask or face covering is defined as a medical or non-medical mask that covers the nose and mouth. Face shields are not a substitute for a mask, as there is an opening below the mouth.

Signage is being posted at all Town offices and facilities with respect to these changes.

The Town is also reviewing information specific to the Provincial Health Order regarding the proof of vaccination requirement.

We will provide you with more information in the coming days on how these changes will apply to our offices and facilities.
